The dollar slumped marginally in post-Turkey day hangover trading.   There was no economic data, but stocks did rise with both the S&P and Nasdaq index closing higher and a record levels (flow out of the safety of the greenback?).  Hopes for Covid vaccines may also help

Gold consolidates after the drop earlier this week just above $1,800
The recent doses of vaccine optimism has tempered with the mood in gold and eventually that led to a break below key support around $1,850 at the start of the week.

The pound loses some ground as the Brexit narrative continues to hint that both sides are still nowhere close to a deal
Pound buyers are running into some headwinds ahead of the weekend, with Brexit talks still seemingly leading nowhere despite the fact that Michel Barnier will be headed to London this evening to continue negotiations.

As the restrictions look set to continue until the closing stages of the year, it makes for a very uncertain outlook going into Q1 2021 if the virus situation isn’t contained.
